a short story I have written intended for a mother to read to a child about a new baby coming

Me I am coming soon.

I am so excited.
I am so excited.
I am about to be born.

I have heard the rippling of water in a slow moving stream.
I have heard my mommy’s loving and gentle lullaby.

I have heard the purr, purr, purr of my family’s big fluffy cat.

I have heard the whisper of the leaves rustling against each other as the autumn wind blows through the forest.

Now I will see what I have never seen.

I will see the doctor’s welcoming hands.

I will see the nurse’s soft, brown, twinkling eyes.

I will see my mommy and daddy’s loving smiles.

I will see my brother’s curious expression.

I will see the rays of the bright sun peeking through the venetian blinds.

Soon I will see what I once heard.

I will feel and touch the slippery stuff.

I will think, speak, listen, smell, and watch.

I will be smelly and stinky.

I will be cleaned up.

I will learn.

I will be part of humanity forever and for always.

My Own Experience

This was serendipity or the god protecting animals. I was using the computer for quite a while and being caught up by galleries and I decided to stop and go to the kitchen. at that very moment I saw Gus my wee hamster tearing across the carpet being chased by my Mac and Sugar-cats and luckily he hid under a couch and then came out and I scooped him up and put in his cage. I had been cleaning his cage and he fell off the table. Now he is fine.
