Snow
Blanketing, covering, shaping over

Rock & road

Lake & fish

Sparkles and shadows neath the starlit skies

The fullness of the shaped whiteness

Sculpting the pale earth

Windswept curves leaning against the frozen water’s edge

Hiding the secrets of sin and shame

A body concealed

A loved one
Lying fetus like in the cold tomb

Memories of sledding, sliding, skating, skidding

Over the wintry tracks

Beside the pawed footprints of nature’s young and old running for food

The hunt
The hunted

The humankind fearful of the cries of the wolf and coyote

The humankind awed by the mystery
movements
of the

coloured lines weaving in the night sky

the aurora

momentarily
touching the
soul
&
Spirits

Thoughts
The coffin laden under the frozen earth

A young man who can never fulfill his earthly mission

of

tasks
&
duties
& highs & lows

He liked to wear the deep red hoody
Blood

Spilled out of his veins and vessels onto the silent frozen
World

He will never choose to wear the deep red hoody again
