It took alot of effort to get my copy of my test from my family physician but I was always able to get a huge amount of support and copies from the health care staff involving hep c at the health sciences centre but a little more difficulty with the family dr. Of course his receptionist is very good.

Now I have finally understood why I feel full after a light snack or not eating at all. the spleen leans against the stomach and I feel full.

a short story I have written intended for a mother to read to a child about a new baby coming

Me I am coming soon.

I am so excited.
I am so excited.
I am about to be born.

I have heard the rippling of water in a slow moving stream.
I have heard my mommy’s loving and gentle lullaby.

I have heard the purr, purr, purr of my family’s big fluffy cat.

I have heard the whisper of the leaves rustling against each other as the autumn wind blows through the forest.

Now I will see what I have never seen.

I will see the doctor’s welcoming hands.

I will see the nurse’s soft, brown, twinkling eyes.

I will see my mommy and daddy’s loving smiles.

I will see my brother’s curious expression.

I will see the rays of the bright sun peeking through the venetian blinds.

Soon I will see what I once heard.

I will feel and touch the slippery stuff.

I will think, speak, listen, smell, and watch.

I will be smelly and stinky.

I will be cleaned up.

I will learn.

I will be part of humanity forever and for always.

My Own Experience

This was serendipity or the god protecting animals. I was using the computer for quite a while and being caught up by galleries and I decided to stop and go to the kitchen. at that very moment I saw Gus my wee hamster tearing across the carpet being chased by my Mac and Sugar-cats and luckily he hid under a couch and then came out and I scooped him up and put in his cage. I had been cleaning his cage and he fell off the table. Now he is fine.

My friend Ray and I had quite a long conversation with her and she asked for the name of my nephew who is in the beginning stages of the film industry. Patrick's interest is more in the area of writing the movie script and other portions therein.

CANADA: Manitoba Liver Expert Says Too Few Doctors Testing for Hepatitis C

CANADA: Manitoba Liver Expert Says Too Few Doctors Testing for Hepatitis C Dr. Kaita is my dr. and a very good one at that-one in twelve people globally have hepatitis c and b and c is the more complicated disease because there is no vaccine against it. Many people live for thirty years without knowing they have the disease which has been slowly attacking the liver. So more and more people should be tested----

I met interesting women there and persons involved wtih the Elizabeth Fry society. Also did the workshop at River House concerning hep c-i did the presentation and the women's response was quite interesting and lively-good stuff.

I finally did a presentation of Hepatis c 101 at River House to 12 clients. It went very well and I enjoyed myself and felt that all the help given to me from the winnipeg Hep c support group, especially Kirk and others, led to this opportunity and more to come. I also went to an event in Central Park in Winnipeg for educating people about hep c, aids, harm reduction, etc. i met an interesting young woman who goes to Uganda to help with economic development-a great conversation. It was a good day.

Fatigue

I keep telling myself to improve my food habits. When I eat too many sweet items mostly coke cola I feel extreme fatigue and I take this to mean that my liver is having a hard time processing the high sugar levels. I fall asleep very easily if I have a chocolate bar and of course if I am home and comfortable. so I am attempting to increase fruits and vegetables. Not being an enthusiastic cook or even a lover of food all my life is a detriment. Also I should be careful with deep fried potatoes which I really enjoy.
I had quesadias the other day at McNally Robinson courtesy of my friend Tim. Thanking you.
This is my good week financially - my gwl cheque arrives-lots of bills to pay and of course my credit card debts remain fixed on a fence because in paying the minimum nothing changes. I have to do something severely and poitively different just prior to being 65 when I will be compelled to live on 50% of what I am receiving now-- I have some span of time to make decisions. How about living in a closet somehere-ha!!
I loved hearing the hymn How Great thou Art at church on sunday-sung by a local church band and a choir and the people at the service.
Later I took my two grandaughters to the Y for a fast swim. I enjoyed the swim, hot tub and suana.
I watched a documentary on jockeys. I had no idea what they go through with keeping their weight to 113-horrendous and one Randy Romero also suffered with hepatitis c. He is my fellow traveller.I watched it on a CBC program called the Passionate Eye.
Outstanding show.

Deidre when she was visiting in B.C.-around 2001

Fatigue

I am experiencing alot of tiredness-much like what I had while on treatment
I was invited to a conference on harm reduction at the Marlborough hotel and I enjoyed it despite being fatigued alot.It was neat to get up early and really go somewhere that was not shopping or doing errands-the cold weather returned-not so good. All the scarves and heavy mittens had to come out because of the severe wind.
Lyn will be back from Belize soon.
Well I have to get off this computer.

following eye surgery
my dr. was very, very good
Dr.Rehsia is an excellent surgeon and has good communication skills.

Thursday, January 15, 2009

I love January. The teenagers are not roaming about all over at mysterious parties because it is even too cold for them-and Deidre is more focused on her end of semester courses, cleaning her room, and not spending money like crazy-which I do not have to give
anyway. My health is holding its own and I am just finished my 2nd surgery for cataracts. When You get this type of surgery some people especially me sees bright colours and unusual shapes and it is all very exciting-even better than my left eye.
We in winnipeg have experienced very low temperatures but I being a former northerner takes it my stride and I wear clothing that keeps me cozy- but even then the wind tries to attack me through several layers of fabric.
