virus news

Although I did not see Sally we talked on the phone and she said that my virus is still showing undetectable-very good news. I have to make sure that I meet my appointment with the dermatologist to find out what is happening with my cryoglobulins and vasculitis and arthritis ???!!!So although my liver is at a serious stage of damage the virus at least will not be destroying it bit by bit.
I thought very clearly in my mind before Sally called me that the virus was no longer about because my feet are no longer swelling.

not nice ditto double double

I had my appointment with the dermatologist and I was told that I had tested positive for cryoglobulins and for rhuematoid arthritis-that last one came out of nowhere's land.He called my hepatologist and he and the nurse and Dr. Kaita decided to retest me for the hep c virus and not wait until September.a skin biopsy was taken, about seven tubes of blood and a urine test-and now I am pretty sure the virus has arisen. Two years of treatment -what the heck-slowed down the progress of the liver disease but we will know more in a few weeks.
the whole thing is pretty scary.
One thing I know-if I ever had any doubts about receiving disability cheques those doubts have been eradicated.

A-V fistula
An arteriovenous (AV) fistula is an abnormal passageway between an artery and a vein. Although it most often occurs in the legs or arms, an AV fistula can occur anywhere in the body, including the brain. An AV fistula may also be created surgically to provide access for hemodialysis in people with end-stage kidney failure.
Normally, your blood flows from arteries through capillaries and back to your heart in veins. When an AV fistula is present, blood flows directly from an artery into a vein, bypassing the capillaries. If the volume of diverted blood flow is large, tissues downstream receive less blood supply. In addition, heart failure may occur due to the increased volume of blood returned to the heart.
A doctor may suspect an AV fistula by an abnormal sound (bruit) heard over the artery with a stethoscope. The sound is due to turbulent blood flow between the artery and the vein. Small fistulas following injury sometimes close without treatment. But larger fistulas usually require treatment, which may include:
§ Endovascular coils inserted into the fistula to close it
§ Surgery to block the abnormal channel

§ Carotid bruit: What causes it?

mri needed

Dr. Kaita said that from my ultrasound I need to have a MRI There is an indication of a fistula which is a flow of blood from a vein to an artery without going through a capiliary first. He didn't really want to know about the diarreah as this seems to be something to tell my family doctor. I am unsure about the date of the MRI. They will send me an appointment time.

I REMEMBER HEARING A SWISHING SOUND DURING MY ULTRASOUND .that sound is called a bruit.
